Gallery Three 1943 Taylorcraft L-2B - N53771
This was my first project aircraft. It had been in storage for approximately 15 years prior to my Dad purchasing it. All of the glue joints had failed on the wings and the wood had not been well protected during storage. I made jigs from the old ribs and replaced all wood components in the wings reusing only the compression struts, drag wires and attachment fittings. This aircraft also fail victim to a house construction project and was sold to a local pilot who completed her. The first picture was taken on her maiden flight day. She's still flying today in the Confederate Air Force.
